I know my artifact is not really linked to my research, but I had a lot of trouble coming up with an idea for this theme. As soon as I heard about this protest going on I thought I would go and take some photos as a protest itself is a spectacle.
I do think that I could have maybe done something better but because I struggled with the theme I just went with the first thing I thought of, I like a couple of the images but others just seem a bit too simple maybe i’m not too sure. The project itself isn’t too bad I suppose but I just don;t think its strong enough on its own because I don’t really have the research to back it up. I do have research into spectacle on the other page but it just isn’t really relevant to this project. I did find some little bits about campaigns that are on going on at the minute but I found that after I had completed thisproject so I suppose it doesn’t really count, but it shows that I am still engaging with the theme.
Some of these images are going to be used in the other project that we have been set as a group. I took around 90 photos but many of them couldnt be used because they weren’t in focus or people would walk in front of the camera. The ones I have use for my spectacle are the ones I thought were he better ones, also the ones that others choose for the group project are going to be changed that is why most of the photos are establishing shots because people in the group wanted clear pictures of people with banners so they can change what the banners say. Some of the same images I have used for my artefact have been used for the group project. I suppose I really should have taken out the ones I used, but I did think the ones I used were the best out of the bunch, so maybe that is what the person choosing the photos for the other project thought too.
